Reception Desk
Provisional Reservations
The Joetsu Cultural Center accepts applications for provisional reservations 12 months prior to the date of use.
(Applications for the period from the first to the last day of the month will be accepted from the first day of the month.)
[Example: If you want to make a reservation for the period from April 1 to 30, 2022, you may do so as soon as April 1, 2021.]
You can make a reservation via telephone. In case you visit the Center, please fill out the necessary documents at the Information Desk.
Applying for a reservation
- Applications will be accepted 6 months prior to the reservation date.
- Applications can be made at the reservations desk at the Center, by mail, or by fax. (FAX :025-525-4105)
- Please fill out the Center’s reservation form when you make your application.

*Event information will be posted only for Large and Middle Halls reservations.

About the Public Facility Reservation System
The Public Facility Reservation System can be used to check availability and to make reservations for the Medium Hall, Large Meeting Room, Medium Meeting Room, Small Meeting Room, and Japanese-style Tatami Rooms.
For further information, please click on the System icon.
*Reservations for the Large Hall cannot be made via the system. If you wish to do so, please make your reservation at the Center’s reservation desk or by telephone.
Reservation Hours
【Center Reservation Counter / Telephone:】
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
*The Joetsu Cultural Center is closed on the third Monday of each month (or the following day if the Monday is a national holiday), and during the year-end and New Year holidays (December 29 to January 3 of the following year).
【Public Facility Reservation System】
・Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
(*Please be aware that the system may be occasionally unavailable due to maintenance.)
Use Permit
After receiving an application, the Center will issue a permit and an invoice for the use of the facility.
Fee Payment
・Please pay the “Facility Use Fee” by bank transfer within 10 days after receiving the invoice.
* Please pay any associated bank fees.
・The first invoice will be for the “Facility Use Fee” only.
・Additional fees will be charged if you wish to use additional equipment (microphones, desks, chairs, etc.).
* You will be invoiced for any additional equipment on the day of the reservation.
* Please make payment at the Cultural Center on the day of your reservation or by bank transfer at a later date.
Event changes / cancellation penalties
・In the event of a change or cancellation to the event after the “Usage Permit” has been issued, a penalty fee will be charged as outlined below.
*Penalty fees for facilities attached to the Center will be based on the number of days the facilities in which equipment has been prepared are used.
*Prior days are defined as the number of days from the date of the request to the day before the date of use.
Cautions
Meeting to discuss use
・In order to ensure events are held in a safe and smooth manner, please meet with the staff of the Center in advance to discuss details about the schedule, stage equipment, etc.
・Please contact the Center in advance for preliminary inspections of the venue and for meetings.
・Please be aware that we will not be able to accommodate visitors without prior notice.
About venue attendants and parking area attendants
・On the day of the event, you are responsible for positioning receptionist(s), hall attendant(s) in charge of audience organization and evacuation in case of emergency, and parking area attendant(s) for car parking duties.
Capacity
・Venue capacity has been determined in accordance with the Fire Defense Law regarding disasters. For safety reasons, it is prohibited to hold events that exceed venue capacity rules.
Other
・The use of fire and incendiary elements without a permit is prohibited.
・In principle, the sale of goods at the Center is not allowed. Please obtain a permit in advance for placing merchandise and displaying and distributing promotional materials, such as posters.
・If you wish to sell food at the venue, you may need to obtain a permit from the Joetsu Health Care Center.
The Center asks you to apply for the permit as soon as possible.
If a permit is not granted, please be aware that all venue sales will be prohibited.
・Bringing into the venue articles or animals that may cause harm or trouble to others is prohibited.
・Using or moving equipment outside of authorized areas, as well as entering unauthorized areas, is prohibited.
・Loud noise, violent acts, or any other behavior that may cause trouble to others is prohibited.
・The Center will not be held responsible for thefts and accidents on the premises and in the parking lot of the Center.
・The individual(s) in charge of the venue use must be aware of the placement of emergency exits, fire extinguishers, indoor fire hydrants, and evacuation routes in case of emergency. Please be sure to inform all concerned staff in advance.
・Any other activities that might be questionable in terms of safety or contrary to the proscribed uses of the Center will be restricted or prohibited.
Venue Use Charges
・The time period for each category includes time for event preparation and clean-up.
・Fees for commercial or business purposes are 50% higher than for regular purposes.
・During the summer period (June 15 to September 30) and the winter period (November 15 to April 15), fees are increased by 30% [due to air conditioning and heating costs].
・The venue fee for the Large Hall when used for preparation or rehearsal use will be 70% of the regular fee.
・If only the stage of the Large Hall is used for social club events, hobby activities, or other non-commercial activities, the Center will only charge 14% of the regular usage fee. (Please note that for this case the Center will only accept application starting 2 months in advance.)
Meeting rooms and Japanese-style tatami rooms are available for use on a scheduled, hourly basis.
・If the event runs over the agreed use time specified in the time schedule, 120% of the hourly fee will be charged for each hour of excess time.
・In addition to the above, the Joetsu Cultural Center offers exemptions based on the Joetsu City’s exemption criteria. Also, charges might be waived in some cases according to the standards set by the Center itself. Please contact the Joetsu Cultural Center for details.
